Receiving Your First Payment Online

When it comes to working online, generally no matter what it is you do, we all anxiously wait for that very first payment to come through.

Whether it’s payment from an affiliate program like clickbank or any other form of online income earning program, often that first payment can seem like it takes forever to arrive. Most programs have some sort of minimum payment threshold or other requirement you need to meet before you will receive that first cheque. Of course once you’ve reached it the first time it starts to get easier and easier.

Before you actually receive that first payment though (or as you’re getting close to reaching your payout level) you need to make sure you have ready to go: ensure you have the right payment details entered into your account/profile; be it your correct mailing address, bank account number or paypal address etc. Depending on where you live you will also need to check any tax information, and which currency you want to be paid in (while many programs payout in $US some will give you the choice of what currency you receive it in).

Some programs will also allow you to set your chosen payout level but before you decided to set it at the lowest possible there are a few things to take into consideration: Depending on where you live for example may mean with conversion rates you end up losing money then too is that often banks will charge you a fee to bank a foreign cheque - for example for me to bank a cheque from clickbank in Australia can cost around $10. And it also means that it may often take up to 20 odd days for my bank to clear an American (or other foreign currency) cheque so the funds aren’t available in my account for a couple of weeks.

Remember though, often when you set up an online business you’re building an ongoing, and often increasing, residual income so once the first payout arrives they do tend to start coming quicker.
